Nikolai Boshkov received his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1998 and his Ch.E. degree from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (UCTM), Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1979–1984. From 1972 to 1977, he studied German gymnasium at Sofia. In 2005, he served as the Head of the Department of Electrochemistry and Corrosion, IPC, BAS; in 2004, he served as an Associate Professor at IPC; in 1990, he served as a Specialist at IPC; in 1986, he served as a Scientific Researcher at the Institute of Metal Prevention, Sofia, Bulgaria. His fields of interest include characterization of materials: electrodeposition of metals and alloys, composite and nanocomposite systems, anodic behavior and passive state of metallic materials, and multilayer systems, and he supervises students’ diploma theses. He authored and coauthored more than 60 scientific publications in journals and at conferences. He also served as a reviewer in domestic and international journals. He serves as a Member of the International Society of Electrochemistry, a Member of the American Nano Society, and a Member of the European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences. In 1984, Boshkov received an Honorable Sign of UCTM and, in 1984, an Honorable Diploma of UCTM.
