Gianluca Ranzi obtained a degree in management and production engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (Italy), a degree in civil engineering from the Università Politecnica delle Marche (Italy), and a B.E. degree with honors from the University of Wollongong (Australia). After the completion of his Ph.D. degree at the University of New South Wales (Australia), he started working as a Lecturer in the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Sydney. At present, he acts as an Associate Professor and the Director of the Centre for Advanced Structural Engineering (CASE) at the University of Sydney. His main research interests deal with the behavior and design of reinforced concrete structures, composite steel-concrete systems, and precast construction.
