James B. Martins
James B. Martins received his B.A. degree in 1966 from North Park College, Chicago, Ill, USA and the M.D. degree in 1970 from the University of Illinois, Chicago, Ill, USA. His Internship, Residency, and Fellowship were completed in 1978 at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, USA. An electrophysiology training program was completed at Krannert Institute of Cardiology, University of Indiana, Indianapolis, Ind, USA in 1979. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He has been a Professor of medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City, Iowa, USA since 1991. He is currently the Director of the Electrophysiology Section and a training program at the University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City, Iowa, USA as well as the Director of the Cardiovascular Section of the VA Med. Center, Iowa City, Iowa, USA. His areas of interest include mechanisms of ischemic ventricular tachycardia and autonomic control of ventricular electrophysiology. He is a Fellow of the Council on clinical cardiology and the Council on circulation, American Heart Association. He is the Former President of the Central Society for Clinical Research.
