Francesco Veglio serves as a Full-Time Professor in chemical engineering at L’Aquila University, L'Aquila, Italy. He authors more than 150 papers in international journals related to the recovery of base, precious metals and rare earth from WEEE, spent batteries and industrial wastes, and integrated industrial wastewater treatments (biosorption, Fenton treatment, membrane technologies, flocculation treatments, etc.). He acts also as the author of some patents related to waste recycling processes. He serves as a Member of the editorial board of Hydrometallurgy and Journal of Waste Management, the scientific responsible of the European Project HydroWEEE-demo (7FP). In 2008 he founded two spin-off companies with the participation of the University of L’Aquila, L'Aquila and La Sapienza, Rome, Italy (EcoRecycling Srl and Biomaterials & Engineering Srl).
