Shiyan Hu

Shiyan Hu received his Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, Tex, USA, in 2008. He was with IBM Research from May 2007 to November 2007. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan Technological University, Mich, USA, where he is the Director of Michigan Tech VLSI CAD Research Lab. His research interests are primarily in computer-aided design for nanoscale circuits and combinatorial optimization including interconnect optimizations, low-power circuit design, and design for manufacturability. He received the Best Paper Award Nomination from 2009 IEEE/ACM International Conference on Computer-Aided Design (ICCAD). He is currently an Associate Editor for the Journal of Circuits, Systems and Signal Processing, and for the International Journal of Electronics and Communications. He has served as the Technical Program Committee (TPC) Member for various conferences including ICCAD, ISQED, SOCC, ISVLSI, ISCAS, VLSI-Soc, and PATMOS. He was the TPC CAD track Cochair for MWSCAS in 2008 and 2009 and for APCCAS in 2008.
