An-Yuan Guo is a Professor in bioinformatics, Department of Biomedical Engineering, College of Life Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. Dr. Guo received his B.S. degree from Nankai University in China and his Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics in 2007 from Peking University in China. He did postdoctoral research in bioinformatics study in complex diseases at Virginia Commonwealth University and Vanderbilt University. He joined Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2009 as a Professor. His research focuses on bioinformatics study in complex diseases and next generation sequencing data analysis. He is an Expert in bioinformatics database and developed a series of databases including transcription factor (TF) databases (DATF, plant TFDB, and animal TFDB) and disease gene databases (ERGR, SZGR, and CAD gene). He characterized TFs and developed pipelines for genome-wide TF identification in both plants and animals. The TF classification and characterization were widely used. He developed an approach to study the microRNA and TF coregulation network analysis in complex diseases and identified some key regulators. He has published more than 20 papers in molecular psychiatry, nucleic acids research, bioinformatics, human mutation, BMC systems biology, and so forth.
