Jorge R. Ruelas-Inzunza

Jorge Ruelas-Inzunza was born in Mazatlán, Sinaloa (NW Mexico) in 1963. He studied biology at the University of Veracruz (SE Mexico) from 1981 to 1986. He continued with his graduate studies at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (Mazatlán Unit) from 1994 to 1997. From 1998 to 2001, Ruelas-Inzunza achieved a Ph.D. degree in chemical oceanography at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (Mazatlán Unit). In 2002, he took a training course at the Marine Environmental Laboratory in Monaco. Currently, Ruelas-Inzunza is a Professor at the Instituto Tecnológico de Mazatlán. His areas of expertise are toxicology of metals in marine fauna and biomonitoring of mercury in marine environments.
