Uwe Kreimeier is an associate professor at the Department of Anaesthesiology, University of Munich Hospital, Munich, Germany. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Münster Medical School, Germany, in 1983. He became a Resident at the Department of Anaesthesiology Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, Germany, from 1983 to 1984. From 1984 to 1990, he became a Resident/Senior Research Assistant, Department of Experimental Surgery, Surgical Clinic, University of Heidelberg, Germany. Then, from 1991 to 1995, he became a Resident at Department of Anaesthesiology, Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich. In 1995, he became an Assistant Professor, and in 2002, he became an Associate Professor, both at Department of Anaesthesiology, Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich. His main fields of interest are emergency care, trauma care, shock, volume replacement therapy, and quality management. He is the Member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the German Resuscitation Council and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). He is also the ALS Course Director of the European Resuscitation Council, Director of the Course Center Munich/Germany of the German Resuscitation Council/European Resuscitation Council, and Associate Editor of the Scandinavian Journal of Trauma, Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine.
