Montse Pardàs received the M.S. degree in telecommunications and the Ph.D. degree from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain, in July 1991 and January 1995, respectively. Since September 1994, she is teaching communication systems and digital image processing at the same university, where she works currently as an Associate Professor. From January 1999 to December 1999, she served as a Research Visitor at Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies, in New Jersey, NJ, USA. Her main research activity deals with video analysis in single-camera and multicamera frameworks, with a special emphasis on segmentation and object tracking, foreground extraction, and human body analysis. She is or has been a TPC Member for IEEE ICIP, IASTED International Conference on Visualization, Imaging and Image Processing, RIAO-Large Scale Semantic Access to Content, Workshop on Mass-Data Analysis of Microscopic Images in Medicine, Biotechnology and Chemistry (MDA), IADIS Virtual Multi-Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems, ACM Multimedia, and MUSCLE International Workshop on Computational Intelligence for Multimedia Understanding. She serves as a Technical Cochair for EUSIPCO 2011. She has been working as an Associate Editor of EURASIP Journal on Applied Signal Processing (JASP).
