Arianna Tavanti
Arianna Tavanti had her B.Sc degree in Biology with honors from the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy in 1995 and obtained her Ph.D. degree from the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy in 2003. From January 2003 to July 2004 she was appointed as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology, University of Aberdeen, Scotland. In November 2004 she was awarded with the title of Specialist in clinical pathology from the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy. In 2006 she was appointed Lecturer and Permanent Member of the research staff at the Department of Biology, University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy. She lectures in “microbial biotechnologies” for the Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology degree and in medical mycology at the Microbiology and Virology Specialization School, University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy. Scientific activity is documented by international publications that are mainly focused on analysis of Candida virulence factors; Candida genotyping; epidemiology; characterization of Candida parapsilosis, Candida orthopsilosis, and Candida metapsilosis. She is a reviewer for Genome Research, Journal of Medical Microbiology, BMC Research Notes, BMC Genomics, BMC Microbiology, International Journal of Medical Microbiology, and European Journal of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Disease.
