Charalambos D. Charalambous joined the
Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at the University of Cyprus in
2003. He accepted his first tenure-track faculty
position at the rank of Associate Professor
with the University of Ottawa, School
of Information Technology and Engineering,
in 1999. He has served at the faculty of
McGill University, Department of Electrical
and Computer Engineering, as a Visiting
Professor, from 1995 to 1999; from 1993 to 1995 he was a Postdoctoral
Fellow with Idaho State University, Engineering Department.
His teaching and research interests span topics in the following
areas: stochastic systems: estimation, identification, and decision;
games theory: robustness and optimization of uncertain stochastic
systems; control subject to communication constraints, queuing
systems, large deviations, and information theory. He served as
an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control,
2001–2004, and he was a Member of the Control System Society
Conference Editorial Board. He was a member of the Canadian
Centres of Excellence through the mathematics of information
technology and complex systems (MITACS), 1998–2001. In 2001,
he received the Premier's Research Excellence Award of the Ontario
Province of Canada.
