Wico W. Lai
Wico W. Lai is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Eye Institute and Assistant Dean (Clinical Affairs) at the LKS Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). During medical school, he was the recipient of the American Heart Association Medical Student Research Fellowship in Ophthalmic Pathology during his research work in the Laboratory of Mark O. M. Tso, MD, at the UIC Eye and Ear Infirmary. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Chicago where he received the Harvey Klein, MD, Outstanding Resident of the Year Award for outstanding performance in residency and for the delivery of exemplary patient care. He then completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the UIC Eye and Ear Infirmary. Following his fellowship, he became an Assistant Professor of ophthalmology at UIC. He joined the Eye Institute at the University of Hong Kong in 2007.
