Sang Jin Suh
Sang Jin Suh received the A.B. degree with honors from the University of Chicago, USA, in 1984. While in college, he received his initial training in bacterial genetics and molecular biology from Dr. Malcolm Casadaban. He then received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin under the tutelage of Dr. Martha M. Howe and Dr. Jorge Escalante-Semerena, respectively. For postdoctoral training, he received a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship and worked in the laboratories of Dr. Susan E. H. West at the University of Wisconsin and Dr. Dennis E. Ohman at the Medical College of Virginia. Since 2002, he has become a Microbiology Faculty at the Department of Biological Sciences at Auburn University in Alabama, USA. His research interests include understanding the molecular mechanisms of bacterial stress response, antimicrobial discovery, and engineering of microorganisms for biotechnology.
