Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa received an M.D. degree from Harvard University. He completed his residency in neurosurgery at the University of California, San Francisco, CA, USA. At Johns Hopkins, Dr. Quinones serves as an Associate Professor of neurosurgery and oncology, neuroscience and cellular and molecular medicine. In addition to directing the Brain Tumor Surgery Program at Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital and the Pituitary Surgery Program at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Quinones leads the Brain Tumor Stem Cell Laboratory. He is member of a number of scientific editorial boards and review grant’s committees. Dr. Quinones’ lab is investigating the role of stem cells in the origin of brain tumors and the potential role stem cells can play in fighting brain cancer and regaining neurological function.
