Shenggui Zhang was born in Shaanxi, China, in 1968. He received the B.S. degree from Shaanxi Normal University, the M.A. degree from Northwestern Polytechnical University, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Twente, in 1990, 1993, and 2002, respectively. Since 1993, he works at the Department of Applied Mathematics of Northwestern Polytechnical University. From 2005 to 2007, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Presently, he serves as a Professor and Ph.D. Student Supervisor. He is mainly interested in graph theory and its applications: the existence of subgraphs, invulnerability of networks, chemical graph theory, bioinformatics, mathematical modeling of supply chain networks and sensor networks, and sneak circuit analysis. He was the main investigator of three projects of the Natural Science Foundation of China and has published more than 60 journal papers .
