Ignacio Romero

Ignacio Romero is Professor of solid mechanics at the Mechanical Engineering School, Technical University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain. He obtained his Engineering degree from the Comillas Pontifical University, Madrid, Spain, in 1995, the M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA, in 1997, and the Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, CA, USA, in 2001. He is a Fulbright Scholar, a recipient of a "Ram ón y Cajal" Grant, and the 2011 Zienkiewicz prize and medal. His research interests include computational solid mechanics, nonlinear structural mechanics, multiscale solid modeling, and high-performance computing.
