Dr. Sotirios Bisdas is Associate Professor of Radiology and Senior Neuroradiologist in the Dept. of Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at the Eberhard-Karls-University of Tübingen, Germany. He obtained his MD degree after joint studies in the University of Athens, Greece and University of Mainz, Germany. He was trained in Radiology and Neuroradiology in the Hannover Medical School, the University of Frankfurt, and the University of Tübingen, which joined in 2009 after his post-doctoral scholarship in Neuroradiology Research in the Medical University of South Carolina, USA. He obtained a PhD degree after working in the advanced analysis of dynamic contrast-enhanced MR and CT studies. He also holds a Master degree in Advanced Oncology. His fields of expertise include functional CT and MR imaging of the brain as well as head and neck oncology. He has authored or co-authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and 6 book chapters. Dr. Bisdas was actively involved in the early clinical evaluation of the newly launched MR-PET system. Currently, he is responsible for the PET/MR neuroimaging, the intraoperative MR imaging, and the ultra-high-field brain MR spectroscopy programs. He is member of the editorial board of European Radiology and Radiology Research and Practice as well as of the Executive Committee of the European Society of Head and Neck Radiology.
