Mohammad S. Obaidat
Mohammad S. Obaidat is an internationally known academic/researcher. He received his Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA. He is currently a Full Professor of computer science at Monmouth University, West Long Branch, NJ, USA. He has received extensive research funding and authored/coauthored six books and over 400 refereed journal and conference articles. Dr. Obaidat has served as a consultant for several corporations worldwide and as an editor of many scholarly journals, including being Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Communication Systems. Recently, he was awarded the Distinguished Nokia Research Fellowship and the Distinguished Fulbright Award. Dr. Obaidat has made pioneering and lasting contributions to the multifaceted fields of computer science and engineering. He has served as steering committee chair, advisory committee chair, honorary chair, and program chair of many international conferences. He has received a recognition certificate from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Between 1994 and 1997, Obaidat has served as Distinguished Speaker of IEEE Computer Society. Since 1995 he has been serving as an ACM distinguished Lecturer. He is also and SCS Distinguished Lecturer. Between 1996 and 1999, Dr. Obaidat served as a Program Evaluator of CSAB/CSAC. He is currently the Senior Vice President of SCS. He has been invited to lecture and give keynote speeches worldwide. His research interests include wireless communications and networks, modeling and simulation, performance evaluation, security of computer, and network systems, high performance computing/computers, neural networks and pattern recognition, and adaptive learning. During the 2004/2005 academic year, he was Fulbright Distinguished Professor and Advisor to the President of Philadelphia University and Past Deputy Director General of UNESCO (Dr. Adnan Badran who became in April 2005 the Prime Minster of Jordan). Professor Obaidat is a Fellow of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
