Solange Gennari graduated in veterinary medicine at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. Gennari is the Head Professor for the Department of Preventive Veterinary Medicine and Animal Health, responsible for the discipline of parasitic diseases in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, USP. Over the past 15 years, she has been working with protozoa, especially those responsible for zoonosis, mainly on the epidemiological aspects of these diseases. The major line of research focuses on Toxoplasma gondii and Neospora caninum, and she has participated in several studies with Cryptosporidium spp and Giardia sp. Gennari supervised students in M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, having graduated more than 20 Ph.D. students in the past 20 years and published over 100 scientific papers.
