Kai Zhang

Kai Zhang is a professor at North China Electric Power University. He received his Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1996. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Material Science, University of Cagliari, Cagliari, Italy, in 1998, and was a Research Fellow at the University College London, London, UK. He became a Professor at China University of Petroleum, Beijing, China, in 2003. He is also a Member in the Editorial Board of the Journal of Fuel Chemistry and Technology, the Society of Chemical Industry, Particle Technology Group of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, and in the Chinese Society of Particuology. He is a Royal Society Chinese Fellow, Honorary Senior Research Fellow of University College London, and Adjunct Professor of the University of West Australia. Zhang obtained the Royal Society Royal Fellowship at Cambridge University in 2000. His research interests are clean coal/biomass conversion, carbon dioxide capture and utilization, and heavy metal control in flue gas.
