Philippe Humbert is the Chairman of the Dermatology Department at the University Hospital of Besançon. He is also the Head of the Laboratory of Cutaneous Engineering and Biology (EA 3183) and he is a Founding Member of the Federative Research Institute IFR133: Cell and Tissue Engineering and Biology. He has an M.D. degree and has a Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology of the skin and obtained an accreditation to supervise research (HDR); he is also specialized in Internal medicine, allergology, and clinical immunology. He created a decade ago the Centre for Studies and Research on Integument (CERT), which aims to explore the physiology of the skin and to provide institutional and industrial partners with a technology platform dedicated to evaluation of medical devices, active drug, and cosmetics. Professor Humbert is involved in many institutional functions, and he is a Member of the Cosmetology Commission of the French Health Products Safety Agency (AFSSAPS). He is currently the President of the European Society for Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology and the Former President of the International Society for Biophysics and Imaging of the Skin. He is a Coeditor of a handbook Measuring the Skin.
