Guido Maria Filippi

Guido Maria Filippi was born in Rome, Italy, in 1954. He obtained the Medical School degree (summa cum laude) at the Catholic University of Rome (Italy in 1979). From 1980 to 1982, he followed the Engineering Faculty courses to obtain an adequate formation in mathematical and physical fundamentals, while he was working at the laboratories of the Institute of Physiology in the Catholic University. In 1986 and 1987, he obtained two grants from Italian and French Institution to spend two years in the College de France (Paris) under the direction of Professor Yves Laporte. In these years and in the successive ones, Filippi worked on the peripheral motor control, both in animals and in humans. In the last 10 years, Filippi worked on the possibility of enhancing motor control by using particular form of focal mechanical vibration.
