Jesse S. Jin

Jesse S. Jin graduated with a B.Eng. degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a Ph.D. degree from University of Otago, New Zealand. He is the Chair Professor of IT in the School of Design, Communication and IT, University of Newcastle. He also chairs the Academic Board of the College of Design and Commerce, Raffles University. Professor Jin is an International Renowned Expert on multimedia technology and visual information retrieval and processing. He has published 245 articles and 11 books. He also has one patent and is in the process of filing 3 more patents. He established a spin-off company and the company won the 1999 ATP Vice-Chancellor New Business Creation Award. He has been a Consultant of many companies such as Motorola, Computer Associates, ScanWorld, Proteome Systems, HyperSoft, and others. He was a Visiting Professor in MIT, UCLA, HKPU, Tsinghua University, Jilin University, China Academy of Sciences, Tienjin University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Beijing Normal University, and others. He was the President of Ausinan Science and Technology Society during 2002 and 2006.
