Francesco Braghin obtained his Ph.D. degree at Politecnico di Milano in 2000. He is Professor of Mechatronic Systems at Politecnico di Milano, Milano, Italy. He gained his research experience under the guidance of Professors Giorgio Diana, Federico Cheli, and Ferruccio Resta. His research is mainly focused on the dynamics and control of mechanical systems ranging from road vehicles to railway vehicles, from sports equipment to smart structures. In recent years, his research interests are focused on active carbon fibre reinforced structures as well as smart actuators based on magnetostrictive materials.
