Chris De Freitas

Chris De Freitas is a Climate Scientist at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He received his early education in Trinidad in the West Indies. He completed his B.S. and M.S. degrees at the University of Toronto in Canada and a Ph.D. degree at the University of Queensland in Australia as a Commonwealth Doctoral Scholar. During his time at the University of Auckland, he has been the Head of science and technology at the Tamaki campus and four years as a Pro-Vice Chancellor. He has been the Vice President of the Meteorological Society of New Zealand and is a founding member of the Australia New Zealand Climate Forum. Currently, he is the Vice President of the International Society of Biometeorology. For 10 years, he was as an Editor of the international journal Climate Research.
