Dongxiao Sun received her Ph.D. degree in animal breeding and genetics from China Agricultural University, Beijing, China (Sep 1996 –¬¬ Jul 1999); her M.S. degree in animal breeding and genetics from Beijing, China (Sep 1993 – Jul 1996); her B.S. degree in animal science from Hebei Agricultural University, Baoding, China (Sep 1989 – Jul 1993). Since July 1999, she works as a Professor of animal genetics and breeding in China Agricultural University. From January 2005 to September 2006, she serves as a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Psychiatric Medicine at the University of Virginia, USA. Her research interests focus on dairy cattle genetics and breeding. The main research fields include the identification of genes affecting milk production and functional traits in dairy cattle, detection of genetic defects, parentage testing, marker-assisted selection, and genomic selection of such economically important traits in dairy cattle.
