William Ravis is a Professor of Pharmaceutics in the Department of Pharmacal Sciences, Harrison School of Pharmacy, Auburn University, and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Auburn University. He received a B.S. degree in pharmacy from Temple University and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Houston in the area of biopharmaceutics/biophysics. In 1977, he joined the faculty at Auburn University School of Pharmacy and was appointed the Head of the Department of Pharmacal Sciences from 1990 to 2007. He has authored over 120 research publications and book chapters covering areas of human and veterinary pharmacokinetics, bioequivalency, drug interactions, stereo-selectivity, drug metabolism, plasma protein binding, modeling, and novel drug delivery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology. He is a Reviewer of over 12 research journals, has served on the Editorial Board of the Journal Pharmacy and Pharmacology, and is currently on the Editorial Board/Section Chairman in pharmacokinetics for the Annals of Pharmacotherapy.
