Walter Jäger studied Pharmacy at the University of Vienna, and then he graduated obtaining a Diploma in 1984. In 1989, he received the Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Vienna, Austria, and since 1985, he has been working as an Assistant Professor at the same institute. In 1999, he received a Habilitation for pharmaceutical chemistry. Since 1999, he has been serving as an Associate Professor of pharmaceutical chemistry at the above-mentioned institute. From 2005 to 2008, he worked as the Vice Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Diagnostics, and since 2009, he serves as the Head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Diagnostics. His fields of interests are clinical pharmacy, especially drug metabolism, drug transport proteins, and pharmacokinetics. He has published 156 original scientific papers, 4 review articles, and 4 book chapters, and he holds 3 patents.
