Sebastian Ventura
0000-0003-4216-6378Sebastian Ventura was born in Cordoba, Spain, in 1966. He received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Cordoba, Cordoba, Spain, in 1989 and 1996, respectively. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Numerical Analysis, in the University of Cordoba, where he heads the Knowledge Discovery and Intelligent Systems Research Laboratory. He is the author or coauthor of more than 90 international publications, 30 of which have been published in international journals. He has also been engaged in 11 research projects (being the coordinator of two of them) supported by the Spanish and Andalusian governments and the European Union, concerning several aspects of the area of evolutionary computation, machine learning, and data mining and its applications. His current research interests are in the fields of soft computing, machine learning, data mining, and its applications. Dr. Ventura serves as a Senior Member of the IEEE Computer, Computational Intelligence and Systems, Man and Cybernetics societies, and the Association of Computing Machinery.
