R. Daniel Bonfil

R. Daniel Bonfil works currently as an Associate Professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine in the Departments of Urology and Pathology. He received his Ph.D. degree in tumor biology from the University of Buenos Aires, and completed his postdoctoral training at the Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia, PA. He was a member of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICET), and a founding member and Scientific Director of the Cancer Research Foundation (FUNDIC), both in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His research interests involve the study of the mechanisms responsible for the establishment and expansion of the metastatic deposit of prostate cancer cells in the bone microenvironment. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and authored book chapters and review articles in tumor biology. Bonfil has been a reviewer for a number of journals and a member of many national and international scientific committees. In addition to Prostate Cancer, he serves on the Editorial Board of Current Oncology.
