Makis Angelakeris

Makis Angelakeris was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1967. He received the B.S. degree in physics and the Ph.D. degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) in 1990 and 2000, respectively. Since 1991, Angelakeris has been with the Multilayer Group of Electron Microscopy Laboratory at the Physics Department of AUTH. Since 2009, he has held an Assistant Professor position at the same department. He is mainly interested in synthesis of metallic (mainly magnetic) and semiconductor thin films, multilayers and nanoparticles and structural, magnetic, electric, magneto-optic characterization of magnetic nanostructures. He has participated in 10 European and national research projects and in 5 international conference organizing committees. He is a regular referee in 5 scientific journals. In 2007, he was the Lead Guest Editor in a special issue of Modern Physics Letters B, Vol. 21, Num.18, August 2007. Angelakeris has supervised 3 Ph.D., 6 M.S., and 7 B.S. theses on magnetic nanostructures.
