Dr Gianfilippo Bertelli is a Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Medical Oncology in Singleton Hospital, Swansea. He trained in Genoa, Italy where he qualified in 1986; he obtained an MD from the University of Genoa, a PhD from the University of Maastricht, and is Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. Dr Bertelli worked as a Medical Oncologist at the National Cancer Institute in Genoa and at the Santa Croce Hospital in Cuneo (Piedmont) before moving to Swansea in 2002. Dr Bertelli’s main clinical and research interests are in the fields of breast, ovarian and genitourinary cancer. He is a member of the NCRI Breast Cancer Studies Group, clinical lead for the South West Wales Cancer Research Network and local Principal Investigator for several trials including REACT, TNT, EPHOS-B, ICON-8, TRISST. He is author or co-author of over 80 articles published in peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) and ESMO (European Society of Medical Oncology).
