Shouyuan Shi serves as a Full Research Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Delaware. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering at Xidian University, China, in 1991, 1994, and 1997, respectively. His research interests are involved in photonics and numerical electromagnetics, including synthesis, design, fabrication and chip-level integration of micro- and nanophotonic devices both active and passive, photonic crystals and left-handed materials and their applications, microwave and mmW imaging systems, electromagnetic inverse scattering, antenna design, software development, and hardware accelerating scientific computing. He (co)authored 8 book chapters and one book. He has published over 230 peer-reviewed journal and international conference papers. He holds 4 issued US patents and 6 patent disclosures. He frequently serves as a Panel Reviewer at US National Science Foundation and as a Reviewer for over 20 international journals. He has also received numerous awards and citations. He has served as a Topical Editor of the journal Optical and Photonic Letters.
