Peter Vary
Peter Vary received the Dipl. Ing. degree
in electrical engineering in 1972 from the
University of Darmstadt, Darmstadt, Germany.
In 1978, he received the Ph.D.
degree from the University of Erlangen-
Nuremberg, Germany. In 1980, he joined
Philips Communication Industries (PKI),
Nuremberg, where he became the Head of
the Digital Signal Processing Group. Since
1988, he has been a Professor at Aachen
University of Technology, Aachen, Germany, and the Head of the
Institute of Communication Systems and Data Processing. His
main research interests are speech coding, channel coding, error
concealment, adaptive filtering for acoustic echo cancellation and
noise reduction, and concepts of mobile radio transmission.
