Linqiang Pan was born in Zhejiang, China, in 1972. He received the Ph.D. degree from Nanjing University, China in 2000. From 2000 to 2002, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). From 2003 to 2004, he was a Visiting Researcher at Rovira i Virgili University, Spain. Since 2005, Pan has been a Professor at HUST. He is mainly interested in computation models and algorithms: bioinspired computing such as DNA computing, membrane computing, and their application in systems biology and bioinformatics. In 2005, he was the Corecipient of the Natural Science Award from Ministry of Education, China. In 2008, he was the Corecipient of the Natural Science Award of Hubei Province, China. Pan is the Deputy Chairman of Hubei Province Society for Operations Research and the Vice Director of Chinese Electron Academic Society: Graph Theory and System Optimization Specialized Committee.
