Kitae Baek received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Korea Advanced Institute of Technology (KAIST), Republic of Korea, He is an Associate Professor of environmental engineering at Chonbuk National University, Republic of Korea. In his current position, Professor Baek teaches courses on soil and groundwater remediation. His primary research areas of interest include electrokinetic remediation, soil washing and flushing, heavy metal stabilization, risk assessment of contaminated lands, evaluation on environmental impacts of remediation process, and remediation of mining area including acid mine drainage and mine tailings. He has published numerous articles in research publications including Journal of Hazardous Materials; Chemosphere; Desalination; Separation Science and Technology. Before joining Chonbuk National University, Baek had worked at Kumoh National Institute of Technology as a full-time Lecturer, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor for 7.5 years.
