Tasos Hovardas received a degree in biology and an M.S. degree in environmental biology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He received his Ph.D. degree from the same university in 2005. He has been granted two scholarships of the Greek State Scholarships Foundation, one for his M.S. thesis (1999) and a second one for postdoctoral research in environmental education (2007). His research interests involve the fields of science education and environmental education as well as environmental psychology and sociology. He has coauthored 18 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, 7 invited book chapters, and 34 papers in Greek and international peer-reviewed conferences. Hovardas has reviewed papers for 7 international journals, and he has participated in 4 national and 6 international research projects. He has served as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Cyprus (September 2008–May 2009), and he is currently a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Thessaly (since September 2009).
