Li-Wei Kang received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees all from the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Chung Cheng University, Chiayi City, Taiwan, in June 1997, July 1999, and January 2005, respectively. Since February 2013, he has joined the Graduate School of Engineering Science and Technology-Doctoral Program and Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Douliu City, Taiwan, as an Assistant Professor. From August 2010 to January 2013, Kang joined the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan, as an Assistant Research Scholar. His research interests include multimedia content analysis and multimedia communications. Dr. Kang served as an Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks since November 2013, an Editorial Advisory Board Member for the book Visual Information Processing in Wireless Sensor Networks: Technology, Trends and Applications, IGI Global, 2011, a coorganizer/cochair of many special sessions, and a reviewer/TPC member of several international conferences and journals. He won the Top 10% Paper Award presented by 2013 IEEE International Workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing. He is a Member of IEEE.
