Sos Agaian

Sos S. Agaian is currently a Full Professor (Peter T. Flawn Distinguished Professor) of electrical and computer engineering and the Head of the Multimedia and Mobile Signal Processing Laboratory in the University of Texas at San Antonio, Tex, USA. He is also a graduate faculty of the Texas University Health Science Center at San Antonio, Tex, USA. He was awarded the President Annual Outstanding Research Award, The College of Staten Island, The City University of New York (2001) and was nominated Outstanding Research Award (UTSA), 2002, 2003, and 2004 (representing EE Department). A collaborating work with Professor Karen Panetta (Tufts University, Mass, USA) was awarded Best Research and Presentation Diploma, NASA Annual conference, FL, USA (1998). At present, Professor Agaian is a Member of the Optical Society of America, a Member of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), a Senior Member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society, and an IEEE Admission and advancement committee member. Also, he is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Real-Time Imaging, the Journal of Electronic Imaging, and an Editorial Board Member of the journal Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis. He served as a member of the program committee, and as the session organizing chair for more than 45 national and international conferences. He is a Fellow of SPIE.
