Poramate Pitak‐Arnnop holds the M.D., D.D.S., M.S., Ph.D., and D.S. degrees. After obtaining the maxillofacial surgical training and the M.S. and D.S. degrees in Paris, France, and the Ph.D. degree in Leipzig, Germany, she has been appointed as an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon/Scientist at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Research Group for Clinical and Psychosocial Research, Evidence‐Based Surgery and Ethics in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, UKGM GmBH, University Hospital of Marburg, Faculty of Medicine, Philipps University of Marburg, Marburg, Germany. Pitak‐Arnnop is active nationally and internationally in the fields of oral maxillofacial/facial plastic surgery and surgical ethics. Over the past eight years, her work on various subjects of interest has been published in more than 70 scientific articles in PubMed/MEDLINE. She has also served as a member of the editorial board for 4 international journals and as an expert reviewer for 11 international surgical and dental journals. Her research interests are focused on clinical studies and psychosocial aspects in oral maxillofacial/facial plastic surgery (including psychotraumatology, quality of life, and public and patient's perception), evidence‐based medicine, research methodology and medical statistics, medical ethics and legal medicine, clinical decision making, public surgical/dental health care, medical/dental education, surgical oncology of head and neck lesions, craniomaxillofacial reconstruction (especially microsurgery and face transplantation), endoscopic oral maxillofacial surgery and facial plastic/cosmetic surgery, and nonsurgical aesthetic medicine.
