Francis R. Verdun

Francis R. Verdun received his M.S. degree in chemical physics and Ph.D. degree in applied physics (spectroscopy) from the University of Metz, France, in 1981 and 1985, respectively. He did his postdoctoral in applied physics (spectroscopy) at the University of Columbus (Ohio State University, USA) from 1986 to 1988 and at Polytechnical school of Lausanne (EPFL, Switzerland) from 1989 to 1990. He was appointed as a Lecturer and a Researcher at the University of Lausanne and Lausanne University Hospital (UNIL-CHUV) in 1999, an Adjunct Professor (UNIL-CHUV) in 2003, and an Associate Professor in medical physics (UNIL-CHUV) in 2010. From 1990 to 2005, he was the Head of the Medical Imaging Group at IRA (Department of Radiology, Institute of Radiation Physics, CHUV). Since 2005, he has been the Head of the Medical Imaging Group and the Deputy Director at IRA. His field of expertise includes medical physics in diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine.
