Stuart H. Cohen
Stuart H. Cohen graduated from Medical School in 1978 from Chicago Medical School. He did his Internal Medicine Residency at University of New Mexico and finished in 1981. He came to UC Davis in 1981 to do his Infectious Diseases Fellowship and finished in 1983. He is board certified in internal medicine (1981) and infectious diseases (1983). He joined the Faculty of Infectious Diseases at UC Davis in 1983 and has progressed to the rank of Professor of medicine. He is currently the Vice Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases. He is also the Program Director for the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program. He is the Clinical Director of the Department of Healthcare Epidemiology and Infection Prevention. He has served on many committees in IDSA and SHEA. He is currently FIDSA and FSHEA as well as FACP. He is primary area of research currently is Clostridium difficile infection. He was the first author of the 2010 SHEA/IDSA Guideline on Clostridium difficile. He also works with other multidrug resistant pathogens and is an active clinician caring for patients with infectious diseases including HIV and hepatitis B and C.
