Jiangming Liang serves as an Associate Professor at Arizona State University. His research focuses on computer vision, biomedical image analysis, and biomedical imaging informatics. Prior to becoming an academic, he was a Staff Scientist at Siemens, where he was engaged in research and development activities in the domain of computer-aided diagnosis in medical imaging and received a Siemens Recognition Award. He holds a Ph.D. degree (2001) in computer science and carried out his thesis work at the Turku Centre for Computer Science in Finland and in the Visual Modeling Group at the University of Toronto in Canada. His research on dynamic chest image analysis received a University Faculty Research Award from the University of Turku. From 2001-2002, he was a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada Industrial Research Fellow. He serves as a Senior Member of the IEEE. In addition to his over 50 peer-reviewed publications, he holds 7 U.S. patents and more than 20 patents pending.
