Luc Bauwens

Luc Bauwens was born in 1952. He received the Ph.D. degree in economics from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, in 1983. He received the 1984 Leonard J. Savage Thesis Award for his thesis. Since 1991, he has been a Professor of economics at UCL, where he is affiliated with the Center for Operations Research and Econometrics (CORE), has been the Chairman of the Department of Economics (2000-2003), and the Research Director of the CORE (2006–2009). His scientific interests are in econometrics, with contributions in time series and financial econometrics using Bayesian inference. He is a Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Applied Econometrics and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Financial Econometrics.
