Ayssar Nahlé is currently an Associate Professor of analytical chemistry and the Chairman of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Sharjah, UAE (since 1998). He holds the B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemistry and chemical technology from the Prague Institute of Chemical Technology, Prague, Czech Republic (1978–1983), and a Ph.D. degree in electrochemistry from the University of Southampton, UK (1989). His previous positions have included Assistant Research Scientist at the Wolfson Center for Electrochemical Science at the University of Southampton (1989-1990) and Assistant Professor of analytical chemistry at the American University of Beirut (AUB) (1990–1998), Lebanon. His research interests expanded to include corrosion, metal finishing, radioactive labeling, fuel cells, and nanowires.
