Yasuhiko Sugawara

Yasuhiko Sugawara was born on August 25, 1965. He received his M.D. degree (cum laude) from the Graduate Faculty of Medicine, University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1990. He obtained his Ph.D. degree (1995-1997) from the Graduate School of Medicine, University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan. In 1997-1998, he was a Chief Resident in liver transplantation surgery at the Department of Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery, National Cancer Center, Tokyo, Japan. Sugawara became an Instructor of artificial organ and transplantation surgery at the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan in 1999-2000. Since 2001, he has been an Associate Professor of artificial organ and transplantation surgery at the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan. Sugawara's fields of interest include liver transplantation and liver resection.
