Nicolas Sklavos serves as an Assistant Professor with the Informatics & MM Department, Technological Educational Institute of Patras, Patras, Greece. He has also been serving as an Assistant Professor, by contract, with the Computer Engineering & Informatics Department, University of Patras, since 2007. He holds an award for his Ph.D. thesis on “VLSI designs of wireless communications security systems” from IFIP VLSI SOC 2003. His research interests include cryptographic engineering, system on chip design, computers architecture, VLSI design, and security of computers and networks. Dr. Sklavos has participated in a great number of European and national projects both in research & development, in the areas of his research. He serves as an evaluator of European commission projects (FP7) and a general secretary of research and development. He has been working as the Director of KNOSSOSnet Research Group, since 2008. He is an IEEE Senior Member, and since 2007, he has been the Chair of IEEE Hellas GOLD Affinity Group. Dr. Sklavos is the Editor-in-Chief for the Information Security Journal: A Global Perspective Journal, Taylor & Francis Group. He also serves as Associate Editor for IEEE Latin America Transactions, IEEE Press, and Computers & Electrical Engineering Journal, Elsevier. He has been a guest editor of special issues for Elsevier and Springer publishers. He was the General Cochair of ACM MobiMedia 2007 and the General Chair of ATHENA Summer School. He has participated in the organization of more than 130 conferences organized by IEEE/ACM/IFIP, as publicity, publication chair, program chair, and program committee member. He has authored or coauthored more than 110 scientific articles, books, chapters, and tutorials, in the areas of his research. His published works have received up to 850 non-self-citations. He is an Associated Member of the European Network of Excellence (HiPEAC). He is also a Member of the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR).
