Ashraf M. Zenkour
Ashraf M. Zenkour serves as a Professor of applied mathematics at Kafrelsheikh University, Egypt. He graduated from Mansoura University (Egypt) in mMathematic in 1985 and was awarded an M.S. and a Ph.D. degrees from the same university in 1990 and 1995, respectively. His M.S. thesis entitled "Mixed Hamilton's principal for anisotropic elastic bodies and its applications on cylindrical shell." and his Ph.D. thesis entitled "On the mixed variational principle for the dynamics of nonlinear elastic bodies." He serves currently a Professor of applied mathematics at King AbdulAziz University (Saudi Arabia). His research interests are in the areas of structural stability, vibration, plated structures and shells. He is the author or coauthor of over 70 scientific publications, reviewer of many international journals in solid mechanics and applied mathematics. Professor Zenkour's research papers have been cited in many articles and textbooks. Professor Zenkour has contributed to the development and application of continuum mechanics for predicting the bending, vibration and buckling behaviour of hygrothermal structures. Presently he is doing research on refining the two-dimensional plate theory for better prediction of the mechanical responses of FGM plates.
