Guan Gui received the D. Eng. degree in information and communication engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China, in 2011. From March 2009 to July 2011, he was selected as outstanding doctor training candidate by the UESTC. From October 2009 to March 2012, with the financial support from the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the Global Center of Education (ECOE), Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, he joined the wireless signal processing and network laboratory (Professor Adachi’s Laboratory), Department of Communications Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, as a Research Assistant and Postdoctoral Research Fellow, respectively. From September 2012 to March 2014, he was supported by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellowship as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the same laboratory. Since April 2014, he has been with Akita Prefectural University, Akita, Japan, where he is special Assistant Professor. He is currently engaged in research of adaptive system identification, compressive sensing, sparse dictionary designing, channel estimation, and advanced wireless techniques. He is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He received IEEE ICC Best Paper Award as well as VTC‐Spring Best Student Paper Award in 2014.
