Marco Del Chiaro
Marco Del Chiaro received the M.D. degree from the Pisa University, Pisa, Italy, where he also completed his residency in general and transplant surgery. He received his Ph.D. degree in new technologies for health from the same institution. Chiaro is presently an Associate Professor of surgery and Head of the Preemptive Pancreas Surgery Program at the Division of Surgery, Department of Clinical Science, Intervention, and Technology, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor of surgery at the Malta University, Msida, Malta. Chiaro is the Founder and Coordinator of the Italian Registry of Familial Pancreatic Cancer and of the European Study Group on Cystic Tumors of the Pancreas. He is the Member of the International Advisory Board of JAMA Surgery. He is a Hepatobiliary Surgeon specializing in pancreatic diseases, transplantation, and robotic surgery.
